Studio Redo

A few weekends back J and I went to IKEA and bought some stuff for Little Peanut's nursery (see here). I also snagged a $39.99 bookshelf and lookie what I did with it: Adios to the plastic bins and rolly cart that used to hold all this stuff!

Treasury Jackpot

I am currently featured in two Etsy treasuries, and they will expire soon. So check them out, already. In one, my Berries ring is featured, and in the other my Moss necklace. Clicky-click on the pics!

Bundle Up This...Summer?

Even though we've got heatstroke weather here in Dallas, Texas, it's cold somewhere in the world right now. So to all those people hanging in Greenland, get you a scarf from Knit Sisters and bundle up! And in case you didn't know, Knit Sisters is a stitchy venture starring my mom and aunt Yolanda. My mom and I took those pictures a couple weekends ago, and yes, those are my pajama bottoms, a.k.a. What I Wear on Saturdays.

Book Nerd

Yesterday I spent the day with Brenda of B.Liscious fame who helped me (finally!) figure out what was wrong with my sewing machine, after stuffing our faces at Amado's breakfast bar, of course. In her words, "When in doubt, check the bobbin." So we did. Again and again. And again. We were about to give up when she saw a diagram about 3/4 of the way in the manual and I swear I saw the lightbulb go off over her head. The problem: Jumbled up stitches known as "bird's nesting." The solution: Turning a screw a tiny bitty bit clockwise. That was it. So after a satisfied afternoon of of Singles and smoothies, I drove back home and got straight on the computer to order some sewing books (okay, after a 3-hour nap). Here's what I got: Bend-the-Rules Sewing by Amy Karol 30 Colorful Quilt & Patchwork Projects by Denyse Schmidt In Stitches by Amy Butler Simple Sewing by Lotta Jansdotter Last Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson Pretty Little Patchwork by Larks Books (comp.) Sweet Needle Felts by Jenn Docherty Sew & Stow by Betty Oppenheimer I can't wait to get started!

Welcome Summer Solstice!

Today is officially the first day of summer. If you live anywhere near my corner of Texas, then you know that summer really began 2 months ago. But alas, the stars have aligned and it's time to whip out the leafy garlands and dance around a tree or something.

But it's too dang hot!

So instead, let's ring in the summer season with a Big Ol' Sale in my Etsy shop. I've slashed prices like mad, and made sure nothing was over $40 ($39.50 to be exact). Just look at these great deals:

Forever In Blue Jeans
WAS: $60 / NOW: $39.50

Live Oak
WAS: $48 / NOW: $39.50

Maura
WAS: $55 / NOW: $39.50

Adios, Madagascar

One of my long-time favorite necklaces is gone to Pennsylvania. The Madagascar, made with a real Thai orchid and freshwater pearls, sold last week and I was happy to shine it and wrap it up nice and snug for my Etsy customer.

I also saw that orchids like these are for sale at Free People. They cost $20 less than mine, only they are strung willy-nilly on a plain cord. Bright and colorful, but a little boring!

Doing Like FedEx

Who knew I had anything in common with a multi-million dollar mega conglomerate like FedEx? As they phase out their Kinko's name and start using FedEx Office, Tefi Designs will also be doing a little phasing out. As many things in business go - there are risks. I took a mini-itty-bitty risk of opening up a second Etsy shop called Fiddleheads by Tefi, which I stocked full of all of my fabric and felt crafts. After several months and 5 lonely sales, I am closing up shop and moving everything Fiddlehead to my main etsy shop. So expect a bursting-at-the-seams Etsy shop real soon full of EVERYTHING I make. Of course, these phasing out things take time, money, and energy so it'll be a good couple weeks before it's all said and done. In the meantime, check out my main Etsy shop as new items will be listed daily. Items like these: Floating Balls No. 16 - $32 Cherries Jubilee ring: $9.50
